  • When Can I Schedule a Sick Visit?

    If you’re ever in doubt about whether your child needs a sick visit, please call our office. Our friendly clinical staff asks a few questions to determine the severity of your child’s symptoms, and then helps you decide if you need to come into the office.


    We are proud to make every effort to provide a same-day appointment on days that we are open (including Saturdays).

  • What Happens During a Sick Child Visit?

    During a sick child visit, our goal is to promptly diagnose the issue and initiate evidence-based treatment to help your child feel more comfortable. We provide a range of diagnostic tests to aid in diagnosing and determining the necessary treatment for various illnesses. Additionally, we conduct a thorough physical examination, which could include assessing your child's heart, neck, throat, and ears, among other areas. Our comprehensive approach ensures that your child receives the appropriate care and support they need to recover quickly.

  • What Children's Conditions Can a Sick Visit Treat?

    Sick visits cater to a variety of injuries and illnesses requiring same-day or next-day medical attention. Children's symptoms can evolve rapidly, so it's crucial not to hesitate to reach out if your child's condition worsens.


    Common conditions treated during sick visits include:


    • Upper respiratory infections
    • Influenza (flu)
    • Earaches
    • Headaches
    • Sore throat or strep throat
    • Congestion

    Additionally, we provide care for minor injuries such as sprains. If your child is experiencing any of these symptoms or conditions, please contact us promptly for evaluation and treatment. Your child's well-being is our priority, and we're here to provide the care they need to feel better.

  • When Does My Child Need Immediate Medical Care?

    If you notice signs of a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately. Your child's safety and well-being are paramount, and emergency medical services are equipped to provide rapid assistance in such situations.


    While many symptoms treated during sick visits may require immediate attention, certain signs indicate your child needs urgent medical care. Call us immediately if your child experiences:


    • Fever of 100.4ºF or higher in children younger than one year old
    • Fever lasting longer than three days
    • Unusual symptoms persisting for more than three days
    • Persistent pain
    • Widespread rash accompanied by a fever of 102ºF or higher in children over one year old
    • Additionally, symptoms like rash, stiff neck, vomiting, and headache alongside a fever can indicate a potentially serious issue.

    When your child is unwell, contact our office as early as possible to arrange a same-day visit if needed.
